Located less than a 50 minute drive from the city, near the peninsula of Cape Palos, La Manga Club is recognised as the best sports and leisure resort in Europe and has won several prestigious awards. Since the resort opened in 1972 it has grown into a virtual town, boasting a 5* hotel, huge spa & fitness centre, 4* apartment hotel, 3 superb 18 hole golf courses, 8 international standard football pitches, a 28 court tennis centre and a collection of luxury villas and apartments. All of this is set in 5.6 square kilometres of beautiful gardens and parkland.
Named after Spain’s current King, the 5* Príncipe Felipe Hotel is a sprawling affair offering luxurious rooms and suites, including the grand Royal Suite where King Felipe VI has stayed on several occasions. The hotel has a selection of lounges, bars and restaurants as well as a heated outdoor swimming pool and the very decadent Royal Club, reserved exclusively for its VIP guests. The state of the art spa & fitness centre boasts 13 treatment rooms, saunas, jacuzzi’s, steam rooms and a 25 metre swimming pool.
The sporting facilities at La Manga Club are second to none and the resort has been the golfing venue for both the Spanish Open and Spanish PGA championships. There are 3 fantastic 18 hole courses as well as an 18 hole pitch & putt course that was designed by the word renowned and much loved Seve Ballesteros. There is also a practice centre and golf academy run by leading golf instructor David Leadbetter. Other sports to be enjoyed at the resort are football, tennis, cricket and rugby.
